However, from just £25 per year* including Insurance Premium Tax, Towergate Assist Commercial Claims Service is available so that in the event of a loss arising you will receive a full loss recovery service, which includes a 24 hour / 365 days a year help line for immediate advice and assistance.
The key advantage of Towergate Assist however is that where a property or business interruption claim is likely to exceed £5,000, within 2 hours of reporting a loss to the help line you will be a contacted by a Loss Adjuster (appointed to act for you as opposed to your insurer) who will manage and oversee the handling of your claim right through to its conclusion.
Whilst in the event of a loss, insurers will instruct their own loss adjuster their function is usually limited to: -
Checking liability and ensuring that an insured peril has operated
Reporting to insurers with a reserve
Asking you to submit a claim
Checking your claim against the cover and terms of the policy
Making an offer in line with the above
Your own Towergate Assist appointed Loss Adjuster however will: -
Advise you on immediate loss mitigation from your perspective
Personally visit you within 24 hours of your notification of the loss (normally sooner)
Manage all claims meetings and communications with insurers and their own
appointed Loss Adjusters
Source equipment and temporary accommodation and get this agreed and approved
with the insurer’s representatives
Supervise any Contractors that are needed
Arrange for critical interim payments from insurers as necessary to maintain
the businesses cash flow
Assist you in preparing a comprehensive statement of your claim for presentation to insurers and ensure this statement is fully substantiated.
(Importantly including Business Interruption claims)
Negotiate with insurers for the best settlement available in terms of the policy
terms and conditions
“Hold your hand” from day one through to the settlement of the claim
You just need to make sure you report any potential qualifying claim to us within 15 days of occurrence.
It should be borne in mind that many businesses that suffer a major loss, never get back to the production levels that they were maintaining prior to the loss. The reason for this can in part be due to inadequate business interruption cover but also due to inadequate loss recovery planning and insurance. Towergate Assist will be there to hold your hand.
